Are you ready to dive into the world of Sickle Cell Disease (SCD)?
September is Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month, and I've crafted an educational and eye-catching infographic that includes key statistics, symptoms, and resources related to SCD.
DID YOU KNOW?
SCD is a major global health concern. According to the WHO (World Health Organization), approximately 300,000 to 400,000 babies are born with SCD each year worldwide.
According to the CDC (Center for Disease Control), SCD affects an estimated 100,000 individuals in the US, primarily those of African, Hispanic, Mediterranean, and Middle Eastern descent.
Approximately 1 in 13 Black or African American babies are born with SCT in the US (CDC).
Discover the facts, share the knowledge, and be part of the movement to raise awareness about this often-misunderstood condition. Read, learn and share - because knowledge is power!
What are your thoughts? Do you know someone who is a carrier or someone who is living with SCD? Share in the comments!
Until next time!
